2017 Year in Review

Increased access to local produce eighteen-fold for islanders using food assistance programs with $1,800 in sales from our Mobile Market.

Served 1,500 meals to 275 kids at 3 service sites in our pilot Summer Food Service Program.

Collected 70 tons of food waste from 17 customers to be composted on local farms.

Maintained 22 acres at the Farm Hub in food production through the work of 5 farmers and 25 community gardeners.

We also continued to successfully operate our existing programs:

Gleaned 23,000 pounds of fresh vegetables, meat, eggs, fruit, and pastries to be donated to families facing food insecurity.

Processed 1,500 chickens for 15 backyard growers and 2 commercial growers.
Taught 1,500 food, garden and agriculture based lessons in the schools.
Harvested 6,000 pounds of salad mix from the Farm Hub greenhouse for local markets and schools.
